Functional Description

The UNS2880A-P,V1 Control Board is the central processing unit of the system. It contains the software for

sequence control, all the control loops (regulators) as well as the protection and monitoring functions.

Further, the so called gate control unit is included in the COB which serves to generate the firing pulses to

the power converters.

There are several ways to communicate with the COB for parameter adjustment. During normal operation, all

parameter values are stored in volatile memory (RAM). For permanent storage, Flash-PROM are provided. 

The volatile memory (RAM) also contains the fault-logger information. This information is retained for 2 days

after a complete failure of the power supply.
